Data protection

1. Purpose and legal basis of data processing
With this data protection declaration, users receive information about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the responsible provider.

Your personal data will only be processed by us in accordance with the provisions of German data protection law (Article 6 GDPR). Data is personal if it can be clearly assigned to a specific natural person, e.g. name, address, e-mail, telephone number, etc. The legal basis of data protection can be found in the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Telemedia Act (TMG) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The right to personal data processing arises in particular from
• an existing consent of the user, Art 6 Para. 1 S.1 lit a DSGVO,
• the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures with the user, Art 6 Para. 1 S.1 lit b DSGVO or
• legitimate interests of the provider, Art 6 Para. 1 S.1 lit f GDPR.

When you access our website, general information is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, IP address and the like. This is exclusively information that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person. This information is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver the content you have requested from websites and is mandatory when using the Internet. Anonymous information of this type is statistically evaluated by us in order to optimize our website and the technology behind it. Tracking pixels also serve such purposes. The legal basis for the collection of general information is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

3.Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called "cookies". Cookies are small text files that are transferred to your hard drive by a website server. As a result, we automatically receive certain data, e.g. B. IP address, browser used, operating system about your computer and your connection to the Internet. Based on the IP address stored in the cookies, we can recognize returning visitors. The information obtained through cookies is used to optimize our offers and to enable you to access our site more easily, e.g. to load the pages correctly and more quickly through your browser.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or be linked to personal data without your consent. The legal basis for the use of cookies is Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Of course, you can also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help functions of your internet browser to find out how you can change these settings. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

4. Contact option
If you contact us via an online form or by e-mail, we store the information you provide in order to be able to answer your inquiry and ask any follow-up questions. A transfer to third parties does not take place. A comparison of the data collected in this way with data that may be collected by other components of our site does not take place either. The legal basis for data processing for the purpose of establishing contact is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a, b and f GDPR.

5. Social Buttons
On our website we offer you the option of using “social media buttons” from Facebook, Google+ and XING. The buttons work like simple links and offer maximum data protection. Only after clicking on a button will the necessary data be activated so that you can make a recommendation, for example. Using the recommendation buttons requires that you have an account with the provider and that you are logged in. The legal basis for the use of social buttons is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 lit. a and f GDPR.

You can use the social media buttons of the following companies on the website:
Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave - Palo Alto - CA 94304 - USA)
Google Plus/Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheater Parkway - Mountain View - CA 94043 - USA)
XING AG (Gänsemarkt 43 – 20354 Hamburg – Germany)

6. Google Adwords
This website uses the online advertising program "Google AdWords" and conversion tracking as part of this. Google Adwords places a cookie on your computer if you have reached our website via a Google ad. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was forwarded to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers.

The information obtained with the help of the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Adwords customers find out the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified. The legal basis for conversion tracking is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

The relevant data protection declaration from Google can be found under the following link: https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html

You can prevent the installation of "conversion cookies" by setting your browser accordingly, e.g. via a browser setting that generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies or specifically blocks only the cookies from Google Adwords.

7. Embedded Youtube Videos
We use videos from YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, a company of Google Inc., Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, on our website. We use the "extended data protection mode" option provided by YouTube.

If you call up a page that has an embedded video, a connection to the YouTube servers is established and the content is displayed on the website by notifying your browser.

According to the information provided by YouTube, in "extended data protection mode" only data is transmitted to the YouTube server when you watch the video, for example on which of our pages this happens. If you have a YouTube account and are logged in to YouTube at the same time, this information will be assigned to your YouTube member account. You can prevent this by logging out of your member account before visiting our website. The legal basis for the processing of your data through embedded videos is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.

More information about YouTube privacy is provided by Google at the following link: https://policies.google.com/privacy

8. Newsletters
We offer you the option of being added to our mailing list and subscribing to a newsletter via a simple email. We will then inform you, for example, about planned seminars or other special offers. Messages relating to the newsletter itself, such as changes to the newsletter offer or technical conditions, are also possible.

In order to receive our newsletter, you need a valid e-mail address. The data collected in this way is used exclusively for subscribing to our newsletter. A transfer to third parties does not take place. A comparison of the data collected in this way with data that may be collected by other components of our site does not take place either. The legal basis for the processing of your data for the newsletter is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter a GDPR. You can cancel your subscription to this newsletter at any time. 9. Amazon Affiliate Program
Martin Dierks is a participant in the Amazon EU affiliate program designed to provide a medium for websites to earn advertising fees by placing advertisements and links to Amazon.de. To track the order, Amazon uses cookies that make it possible to recognize that you have clicked on a partner link on our site.

www.amazon.de/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=3312401

10. Book purchase
If you buy a book offered directly by the website operator on the website by sending an order e-mail from your mailbox, we need your personal data, e.g. the delivery address, to process the contract. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b GDPR. Due to the fact that you have to pay in advance, you do not send any sensitive bank details by e-mail.

Due to commercial and tax law requirements, the provider is obliged to store your address, payment and order data for a period of ten years. However, after two years we will restrict the processing, ie your data will only be used to comply with legal obligations.

11. Disclosure of Data, Data Transfer
We transfer your personal data to third parties only within the framework of the laws:
• After granting express consent in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter a GDPR.
• Disclosure is necessary according to Article 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter f GDPR to assert, exercise or defend legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding legitimate interest in not disclosing your data.
• If there is a legal obligation for disclosure according to Article 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter c GDPR.
• Insofar as this is legally permissible and required for the processing of contractual relationships with you in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 Letter b GDPR.

12. Your Rights
You have the following rights with regard to the processing of your personal data. The prerequisite for this is that there are no other regulations, e.g. statutory retention requirements or rights of the website operator, e.g. according to Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause lit f GDPR.

Right to information (Article 15 GDPR),
Right to rectification or erasure (Art. 16, 17 GDPR),

In order to ensure that our data protection declaration always corresponds to the current legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. This also applies in the event that the data protection declaration has to be adjusted due to new or revised services, for example new services. The new data protection declaration will then take effect the next time you visit our website.
